Mexico to Europe adventure (Funchal, Portugal... Part four)

Three days in Miami was a good time to rest and prepare for our sea adventure. It was my first time taking a cruise for so many days, that I was concerned about getting sea sick and not being able to enjoy the trip. Fortunately, I discovered a magical pill that takes care of my motion sickness every time we travel... Dramamine is the best!
JJ found a good deal with Norwegian Epic, one of the biggest ships. An eleven days, all inclusive with a mid-ship balcony cabin for $1500 USD.
I was very impressed with the ship once we checked in, it felt like been in a hotel resort in Las Vegas. Our cabin was spacious and very comfortable, having a balcony made it feel more open so were very happy with it.

By the time we were in our cabin, the Dramamine was making me feel sleepy so I decided to take a little nap before the departure time but, I slept for over three hours so I missed it.
For six days, while crossing the Atlantic, we had the best relaxing time. Eating, having walks on the deck, going to the shows and taking naps never felt that great!
Our first stop after six days was Funchal, this beautiful city is in the island of Madeira, Portugal. We had one day to explore the city so JJ and I took the backpack already filled with granola bars, fruits and a bottle of water, then we  started discovering this amazing place.
Full of parks, cute outdoor restaurants, botanical gardens, historical sites and surrounded by green mountains with beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean make this a very magical destination.
The highest point of the city can be reached by a tram, so we didn't waste any time and took the ride... The breath taking views, the gardens and historical buildings were amazing!
We were sorry not having more time to spend in this city but, we decided that we would go back and try to spend at least a month next time. Seriously, this is one of those places that you don't want to leave.

What a wonderful experience we had in Funchal, unfortunately it was time to go back to the ship.
For the four following days, we kept relaxing and having a great time doing different activities on the ship. On the fifth day after leaving Funchal, we arrived in Barcelona, Spain in the early morning. We had time to enjoy our last breakfast before continuing our adventure... To be continue.
