Mexico to Europe adventure (Part three)

After having a great meal, it was time to leave New Orleans and head East to go to the city of Charleston, South Carolina. It was going to be a twelve hours long drive so we made sure to filled up the tank and our stomachs as well.
It was my first time driving in the south and traveling through the states of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia was a great experience. I was amazed with so much natural beauty! We were about half way when we decided to stop for a bite, JJ told me that we had to eat at one of his favorite southern restaurants... The Waffle House. OMG I have never eaten such a delicious breakfast in a late afternoon! I have to confess that while been in the south, I wanted to eat at this place all the time.

We made it to Charleston late night so we were ready to hit the sack. Next morning feeling more rested, we were ready to go for a walk and explore the city.
We started in the Historic Downtown which it was full of art galleries, boutiques, museums and historic sites. Then we continue walking to the seaside promenade area where we discover beautiful parks and reading spots. This is like a sanctuary for locals to escape to relax and clear their minds.
I love cities with history, old architecture, green areas and charm; Charleston has it all.

While exploring the city, we met a local lady who was painting in a little park. She was very friendly and told us so much information about the city and the Tea Plantation. We are always looking for new experiences and since I love my hot tea, we had to go to this place.
The Charleston Tea Plantation is located in the heart of South Carolina, about and hour outside of the city of Charleston. This place is open to the public and it offers an adventurous trolley tour, taking you to the scenic grounds that produce American classic tea and teaching the process of it as well. We also learned that this plantation is the only one in the United States.

What a great experience we had at this place and so much memories to remember and share with you guys.
We departed to St. Augustine, Florida after finishing the tour at the plantation. We heard this place was very historical so we wanted to explore it as well.
This charming city is known as the "Ancient City" and it has a beautiful historical district with an amazing Spanish architecture. It was founded in September 1565 and served as capitol of Spanish Florida for two hundred years so, if you like historical places with beautiful beaches, cute restaurants and cafes, St. Augustine is the right destination for you.

St. Augustine was our last city before heading to Miami where we took a couple of days to rest. We had to be ready to keep with our adventure which it would be taking a cruise ship to Barcelona, Spain... To be continue.
