Subway ride to the Botanical Garden in Medellin, Colombia. (Part 4)

The sunshine woke us up one more time this morning through our bedroom's window, like letting us know that it was time to enjoy the new day. While JJ and I were having a cup of coffee in the back patio and letting our bodies absorb the energy of Mr. Sun, we decided to explore the Botanical Garden.
We love to walk, it keeps us in shape and it's a better way of "getting lost" in the city and find all those amazing hidden places. Today, we walked to the subway station of El Poblado and took the ride to downtown where the Botanical Garden is located; we wanted to have the subway experience in Medellin.
We weren't disappointed at all, the metro is really a great transportation system that takes you all over the city; it is clean, well organized, safe, it has air conditioner and it´s very affordable (COP $2000... $0.85 USD).

The Botanical Garden is right in the heart of the city and it's about 40 acres of outdoor space; here is where all the locals and its visitors escape to relax and enjoy a good quality time with their loved ones.

Walking through its paths is like getting into an enchanted place full of a diversity of plants and trees; the lake brings so much tranquility and invites you to sit down by the calm water and forget about your daily routine. As we kept exploring the garden, we found some secret spots where you can read stories about these magical beings that protect the park.

The butterflies house is a little sanctuary where you can interact with these beautiful creatures and appreciate their vivid colors; being around them, it's like going back in time to our childhood when we used to believe in the magical fairies... I am sure I saw some of them flying around and smiling at me! :O)

This Botanical garden also has some restaurants, so you can enjoy a delicious meal at the end of your adventure; but you can always bring a basket with some bread, cheese and a bottle of wine... what a better way of spending some quality time!

What a great day we had at the Botanical Garden... it feels good to be a child for a day and forget about all the responsibilities of being a grown up.

To be continue...
Safe travels!
